I put the cover on my sedan the night before a hard frost and lifted it off in the morning with the glass underneath clear. The mirror pockets also saved me from scraping those small surfaces.
The SUV size covers the windshield from edge to edge on our crossover. The mirror pockets and magnetic edges make the whole setup feel much more secure than the loose tarp I used last winter.
The orange strips on the mirror covers are easy to spot when I walk out before sunrise. They add visibility without making the cover complicated to install.
Once I centered it, the side pockets slipped over the mirrors and the edges settled into place. I appreciate that I can protect the wipers without wrestling with straps.
I tested it during a cold rain and the quilted outer layer shed water well. I shook it off in the garage and hung it open to dry before folding it again.
The inside surface feels smoother than the shiny outer layer. I always wipe any grit off the windshield first, and the cover has left the glass clean after repeated use.
We had a windy fall week with leaves and tree debris, and this kept most of it away from the windshield and wiper area. Removing one cover was faster than cleaning the whole glass.
The embedded magnets held the edges close to the body on our steel-framed SUV, while the mirror pockets kept the sides anchored. I would still remove it for truly extreme wind.
After an overnight dusting of snow, I pulled the cover forward and the snow came away with it. The difference was most noticeable around the wipers, which were ready to go.
The cover is thicker than a plastic sheet but still folds into a compact square. I keep it beside my gloves and scraper so it is always in the car when the weather changes.
The sedan size reaches the important glass area without hanging too far over the hood. Centering it before fitting the mirrors gives me the best result.
I checked the width of my windshield before ordering and the fit is right where I wanted it. The two size choices make more sense once you compare them with your vehicle.
This has shortened my early morning routine considerably. I still run the defroster briefly, but I am no longer chipping a solid layer of ice from the windshield.
The multi-layer construction has more body than the thin covers I have tried. It does not bunch up easily, and the black edging gives the perimeter a finished feel.
Sliding the pockets on first makes it simple to position the main panel evenly. They also keep frost off most of each side mirror, which is a welcome bonus.
Loose snow shakes off, and a damp cloth handled the road dust around the bottom edge. I let it dry fully over a rack before storing it in the trunk.
The reflective silver face noticeably shades the windshield when my car sits in an open lot. I bought it for winter, but it has earned a place in the trunk year-round.
I gave the SUV size to my dad after checking his windshield measurements. He liked that the mirror covers and magnetic edges are all built into one piece.
The cover itself is well made, but the magnetic hold is weaker around the non-steel sections of my vehicle. The mirror pockets still help, and careful sizing is important.
It removes snow and frost well, but after wet weather the cover is too damp to fold straight into the trunk. Hanging it open in the garage solves the issue.
